I Come in Peace!

“Life can only be understood backwards, but it can only be lived forwards”  – Kierkegaard –

Living in a time in which the world is more connected than ever before through social media! A time whereby people are either ‘haters’ (thumb down) or ‘lovers’ (thumbs up)! A time where the ubiquitous media makes us believe there are more disasters, wars, lunatics, terrorist attacks and pandemics than ever before even though the opposite is true! And above all a time driven by ‘stress’ and ‘fear’ while we never lived as safe and as comfortable ever before.

Especially in this time I like to explicitly say that I come in peace! In not any way I intent to hurt, discriminate or attack anyone personally, in case you might feel I do, please let me know. The stories you will find on this website are however sometimes radical and spicy and might provoke one and another, I maybe even hope so. Nevertheless, I like to emphasize that all content is written with the best intentions! Moreover, it is written with the purpose to inspire and contribute to a better (more social) world whereby each and everyone’s happiness is the starting point.

I am aware that the latter for most people sounds overly eager let alone feasible. For some it might have even triggered a do-gooders-allergic reaction, I get it! Who am I to pretend to be some kind of prophet and aren’t we all having good intentions within our own beliefs? You are right and don’t worry, I am an ordinary man and aware that my stories are a quixotic (as in Don Quichot) attempt. I do however believe that all of us, deep down or at least from birth, carry a unique set of talents and good intentions!

Unfortunately, as (life)time, passes, most people (yes, I’ve been guilty too) unconsciously got the wrong drivers installed during their upbringing. Drivers which lead us to pursuit things which oppose happiness for ourselves and others. And, at the same time, drivers which give people a deeply rooted ‘no-can-do’ belief which completely disables them from reaching their full potential.

And you might want to call the above yet another cry out  from a ‘strawberry’ a.k.a. ‘snowflake’  a.k.a. ‘millennial’, that is OK. I rather see it as yet another voice from an emerging minority that sees, knows and wants a better future for all. So, the stories are more seeds for progress added to the already existing ones and maybe, when there are enough seeds, it will lead to revelation! Cause I am not the only one who beliefs in a world where an individual’s sustainable happiness is the primary concern whenever decisions are made.

It is unfortunate to see that current leaders make strategies, policies and plans which comprise the ideals pursuit in the 90ties (the American Dream). In other words, it is about obtaining possessions and capital (over quality of life), creating jobs (over life satisfaction), gaining wealth  (over wealth equality), winning (from a loser), being competitive and even hostile (against our talented co-humans), and increasing productivity (over increasing individuals potential) and about increasing revenue, profit and GDP at all cost (over increasing happiness).

In short, whatever we (and I) do in life, we should ask ourselves the question whether it contributes to more happiness in the world, whether it be your children, partner, neighbor, colleagues or other earthlings. And I know this story is made with the intention to inspire people on how we can shape a world in which everybody can be happy and reach full potential. To be clear, all stories here are created with passion (I love thinking about everything) and purpose (to make a more social world), it is therefore like expressing a bit of my art to you in this digital gallery. And as befits an artist, maybe few people are inspired – in that case it was still nice to express it anyways – or maybe many  people are inspired and obviously that will be awesome!
