Invisible Sacred Cows
(Introducing the Big Six)
In other posts I (will) elaborate(d) more about the invisible sacred cows, in this post, Let’s get to the point! People have always been surrounded by sacred cows – for some visible but for most invisible (taken for gratned) as described here. And – not surprisingly – also today we are surrounded by (invisible) sacred cows, let me introduce you to the big six:
1. Politics & Government these days has more to do with peacocking, chess and entertainment than that it truly seeks to govern a nation in which “sustainable happiness” and “reaching each and everyone’s full potential” is central.
2. Education & Development, despite the hardworking teachers, is still framed to deliver excellent “industrial” workers rather than coaching, inspiring and empowering each and every individual to be the best version of him- or herself.
3. Economics & Business only knows scarcity, supply-and-demand, anti-synergetic competition and money-maximization so far and seems to be totally alien to equal distribution of our surpluses, synergetic collaboration and happiness-maximization.
4. Healthcare & Wellbeing has become a subject of economics and despite the hardworking health professionals, it is stuck in a scarcity of health provision, supply and demand dictates an equality gap whereby rich have access to high-quality care and poor have to wait their turn and hope for some care, even competition despite the scarcity and all reactive to health cost- or profit driven mechanism as opposed to a proactive sector primarily concerned with increasing the health and wellbeing of each and every one!
5. Science & Technology is our biggest fear and hope and unfortunately the future development is mainly driven for money and military purposes as opposed to happiness and empowerment purposes.
6. Communication & Infrastructure and communication is also a subject to economics and solely focuses on scramming more mobile devices (whether we talk about connecting-devices or moving-devices) into the highly concentrated (read high-demand) no matter the (healthcare) cost in stead of truly connecting each and everyone in a way all places become more livable.
In the coming chapter I intend to clarify, reveal and illustrate per “invisible sacred cow” what in my view is going on. But apart from just highlighting the “problem” or “challenge” I have also taken the effort and opportunity to come up with solutions and rethink how we could organize things in a fashion which contributes to a more social world. That is, a world in which “sustainable happiness” and “reaching one’s full potential” are central!
